Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of aesthetic education of older preschool children in the process of familiarization with decorative and applied art, determination of criteria and indicators of their aesthetic education. On the basis of psychological and pedagogical research, the task of aesthetic education of preschoolers aged 5–6 is outlined. In accordance with the understanding of the essence of the concept of "aesthetic education", the leading characteristics of the result of the manifestation of aesthetic education of older preschool children are highlighted. The relevant components, criteria, indicators and indicators of this upbringing are defined.

Стаття присвячена проблемі естетичного виховання дітей старшого дошкільного віку в процесі ознайомлення з декоративно-прикладним мистецтвом, визначенню критеріїв та показників їхньої естетичної вихованості. На основі психолого-педагогічних досліджень окреслено завдання естетичного виховання дошкільнят 5–6 років. Відповідно до розуміння сутності поняття «естетичне виховання», виділено провідні характеристики результату прояву естетичної вихованості дітей старшого дошкільного віку. Визначено відповідні компоненти, критерії, показники та індикатори цієї вихованості.
