Abstract
In the article Maria Montessori’s views on the problem of moral personality formation at the preschool agehave been analyzed. The prominent Italian educator’s ideas concerning mastering the knowledge about moralprinciples and behavioral norms by children and their moral qualities and feelings development have been described.The methods of moral education of preschool children according to Maria Montessori’s system have beencharacterized.

У статті проаналізовано погляди Марії Монтессорі на проблему формування моральної особистості у дошкільному віці. Описано ідеї видатної італійської педагогині щодо оволодіння дітьми знаннями про моральні принципи та норми поведінки, розвитку їхніх моральних якостей і почуттів. Охарактеризовано методи морального виховання дітей дошкільного віку за системою Марії Монтессорі.
