Abstract
In this research the main phonetic features of Scottish English were highlighted on the basis of the American historical drama "Braveheart", in particular important aspects of vowel and consonant sounds were considered in comparison with other variants of the English language. It also analyzed certain phonetic phenomena inherent in Scottish English and
identified some lexical items that do not exist in modern standardized received pronunciation.
